Job Description

Are you interested in working at a cutting-edge research institute located within one of the Top 100 Hospitals in the nation? At ChristianaCare, we are driven by our core values of Love and Excellence, and we are dedicated to delivering health, not just healthcare. Join us at the ChristianaCare Gene Editing Institute!

We are currently seeking a laboratory-based Research Scientist with experience in oncology to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team focused on developing gene editing tools for therapeutic applications. The successful candidate will conduct investigative studies in the preclinical development and evaluation of therapeutic candidates.

This role involves performing laboratory-based investigations into novel therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors. The position is critical in supporting Oncology projects throughout the drug discovery process. You will leverage your expertise to establish assay systems and deliver impactful datasets for pipeline programs. This includes designing, conducting, and analyzing both in vitro and in vivo experiments to assess the function of candidate drugs and to dissect the mechanisms of action of novel therapeutics. Strong project management skills will be essential for role.

At the ChristianaCare Gene Editing Institute, we explore the potential of CRISPR-directed gene editing for application in oncology. Our mission is to translate innovative research from the lab to clinical practice by using CRISPR technology to improve outcomes for cancer patients.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with 4-5 years’ experience in molecular biology, biotechnology, cell biology, or a closely related field. PhD with 0-4 years’ experience preferred.

  • At least two first-author publications in reputable journals are required.

  • Experience with CRISPR research is a plus, but familiarity with molecular biology and cell techniques is essential. This position involves direct experimentation and bench work centered on mechanisms of gene editing in oncology.

ChristianaCare Offers:

  • Full Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, etc.

  • Two retirement planning offerings, including 403(b) with company contributions.

  • Generous paid time off with annual roll-over and opportunities to cash out.

  • 12 week paid parental leave.

  • Tuition assistance.

  • Incredible Work/Life benefits including annual membership to care.com, access to backup care services for dependents through Care@Work, retirement planning services, financial mentorship, fitness and wellness reimbursement, and great discounts through several vendors for hotels, rental cars, theme parks, shows, sporting events, movie tickets and much more!

Annual Compensation Range $73,611.20 - $117,790.40

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
